Our approach
A programme, not a set of procedures
A single procedure rarely changes the course of a disease. A sequence of considered steps does. So HELMIVI is built around individual, comprehensive programmes: first we assess the condition on several levels, then we build a protocol for that specific case, and only then does treatment begin. Every part of the programme reinforces the rest.
Decisions are made by a team of neurologists, orthopaedists, neuropsychologists, neurophysiologists and rehabilitation specialists, led by the centre's medical and scientific director, Dr. Viktor Kholin (Germany — Ukraine). Complex cases are reviewed by a board.

A comprehensive assessment
The condition is measured on several levels at once — from genes and molecules to function. We forecast disease progression and treatment response from biomarkers, genetic polymorphisms and whole-genome sequencing, neuromorphometry and brain-metabolism assessment, neuropsychology and neurophysiology, neuro-orthopaedics and, of course, clinical data.

As part of the research we run at the centre, we study new, innovative methods of treatment and diagnostics that are not yet in routine practice — so patients gain access to the medicine of the future: transcranial photobiomodulation and the latest biological markers that predict disease progression to guide the best treatment choice. The centre runs both its own research programmes and collaborations with leading European medical research institutions, so it offers new methods to patients first.

Technology in plain language
Equipment & technology
Every method is chosen for the specific case. The equipment is a tool of the programme, not a substitute for it: a technology works only inside a protocol, where there is a baseline and a control assessment. Below — a short note on each.
TPS Neurolith® — transcranial pulse stimulation
Focused ultrasound aimed precisely at the brain network responsible for the symptom. Each pulse lasts about 3 microseconds: the tissue is not heated and not damaged. Precision is a few millimetres, depth up to 8 cm, so the deep structures critical for memory are reachable. The focus position is tracked in real time and overlaid on your own MRI. You sit in a chair for 30 minutes — and can go straight back to your day.
Micro-polarisation (tDCS)
Through electrodes a very weak, entirely safe current gently tunes the activity of the target brain zones.
Storz Medical shockwave therapy
Short mechanical waves are directed into tense, spasmed muscles: they relax them, reduce excess tone and restore joint mobility. Especially useful for post-stroke spasticity and muscle rigidity in Parkinson's disease, and for pain-related orthopaedic syndromes.
Biomarkers — indicators of brain state
Measurable indicators (notably special proteins in the blood) that reveal what is happening in the brain before any symptoms appear. For memory these are Alzheimer's markers; for movement — markers specific to Parkinson's disease. They show the problem years earlier.
Neuroimaging & MR spectroscopy
A "look into the depth" of the brain: modern methods let us see not only the structure but also assess its "chemistry" — how metabolism works in specific zones. This completes the picture where a standard scan is not enough.
qEEG — a map of the brain's electrical activity
An extended analysis of electrical activity that turns it into a clear "map": you can see which regions are over-active and which are under-active, and how they communicate. It helps fine-tune treatment and measure its effectiveness.

I have symptoms but no diagnosis. Is this the right place?
Yes. This is the most common situation among the people who come to us. A symptom without a diagnosis is a reason to look into it, not to wait: a large share of conditions with similar presentations have different causes and different treatment.
How long does the initial diagnostic take?
It depends on the chosen programme and the clinical question — the exact plan is set after the first consultation.
Can I get a second opinion if I'm already being treated elsewhere?
